Memorial Day Weekend 2019

This illustration was done for the front of a get-well card for a WWII veteran of the 104th Infantry Division - the Timberwolves - which is the division my Grandfather served in during the war.

I was fortunate enough to meet and speak with this particular gentleman at the Timberwolves reunion in New Orleans back in 2015. I was then able to keep in touch with him via Facebook.

He fell ill a few months ago - when I sent this card.

Sadly, he did pass away a few weeks ago.

Surviving Veterans of WWII are in their 90's now and we are losing them at a rapid rate. If you meet one, shake their hand, tell them thank you, and listen to their stories if given the chance.
